The Best All-Weather Base Makeup: Tinted Moisturizer, BB Cream, Cushion Compact

Fall time! My favorite season (also my birthday season!). The change of weather brings cooler temperatures and more expressive makeup. It is easy to skip makeup during these warm months and just opt for sunscreen, but the fall time is great for makeup knowing it won’t melt off of your face. These 3 complexion products keep my skin looking great all year round, all while protecting my skin from the sun. If you haven’t tried these, check them out. You won’t regret it!

-Erborium BB Creme Au Ginseng- in Dore and Caramel – $44

This BB creme was an accidental match made in heaven. I was first introduced to this product through SokoGlam, a website that sells Korean skincare and makeup. This brand is special in that it is a French/Korean hybrid brand that blends effective skincare with makeup. In the Korean cosmetics world, the mixture of skin benefitting ingredients into base makeup isn’t uncommon, but still relatively new to America and the western world. This BB cream proves that lightweight, tinted sunscreen can have great coverage. Not only does this formula beat out all the foundations I have used, but it is the unexpected matte finish I love. It leaves skin ultra smooth, blurs pores, and does a good job of staying on in the warmer months. The only downside is the limited amount of shades, which is common in Korean makeup products. I have to mix the shade Dore and Caramel together to create my perfect shade. If the limited shade selection works for your skin tone, I highly recommend!

-Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion Brightening- No. 33 – $65

Cushion compacts have been all the rave as of late and this has to be one of my favorite formulas. The hydrating formula comforts my dry skin and has great coverage while feeling lightweight. It has an SPF 50+ which is excellent and comes with a refill. A few cons about the cushion are that I find the compact to be bulky in my small bags. It is on the expensive side and the shades are very limited. I am happy one of the deepest shades worked for me but it is upsetting to think they are limiting their sales by not being more inclusive. Aside from that, the formula is fantastic and long-lasting. This does need a light veil of setting powder as it does transfer onto a mask. This is one I have been reaching for the most, as it is easy to apply and get out the door.

-Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer- (Annapurna) $46

This tinted moisturizer is my HOLY GRAIL product. Nars is one of my favorite brands that have a wide variety of shades for everyone. Aside from that, this product is beginner-friendly and impossible to mess up. It has light coverage but does a great job of making the skin look healthy and glowy. Who wouldn’t want that? It has a solid SPF30 and is travel friendly as it is in a squeeze tube. The only con I have with this product is that it oxidizes so be careful when picking a shade. Overall I recommend this to anyone, especially those who are acne-prone as it never upset my skin. If anything it made my skin look better over time with vitamin c and other skincare ingredients built in.
