Blackswan, a multi-national girl group, is one of the most unique groups in K-pop. The four-member group officially debuted with a new lineup in 2023, including Gabi from Brazil, Sriya from India, Fatou from Belgium, and Nvee from the U.S. They released That Karma later that year, a mini-album featuring “Cat and Mouse” and “Karma”. They released music videos for both songs, showing us their insane visuals and unique sound.

The girls followed up with the Roll Up EP in the summer of 2024. The song is confident and screams girl power. The music video is stunning and perfectly complements the song. Fans (myself included) anticipated the album, which featured more songs to showcase more of their talent. The last music video they dropped was “I Like it Hot” in 2025. The song is catchy, and all the members looked fabulous. The only issue here is that the song wasn’t promoted as well as “Roll Up”. It was unexpected but well-received. Another problem now is that there hasn’t been any new music since. They have stayed active, including joining the show KPopped, where they performed songs alongside the legendary group Boyz II Men. Blackswan also appeared in the Apple TV documentary, K-pop Idols, alongside Cravity and Jessi.

Since DR Music has always had difficulty getting this group to the next level, it’s no surprise we’re still waiting for new music. Fans were already very disappointed that they canceled the U.S. Tour in 2025; the least they can do is give fans new music. While we wait, let’s just take a moment to appreciate the gorgeous Sriya, the first Indian K-pop idol.
