When Taemin announced his world tour, I was beside myself. I couldn’t believe he would touch down on American soil and grace us with what I knew would be an outstanding performance. I knew in K-pop fashion, he would only come to a few U.S. cities and my predictions were correct. The Ephemeral Gaze tour included New York, Chicago, Houston, Oakland, and Los Angeles. Yet again, this means I will have to make the necessary travel arrangements to make the show because missing the show was NOT an option. His music has helped me through many difficult times. His artistry is so inspiring and beautiful. I have bought too many albums and have too many posters not to be in attendance and see the perfection for myself. My home state of NY was the best option so Brooklyn-bound we went.

I want to point out that the cost of the tickets was pretty pricey. Granted, I had already planned to fork over a good chunk of money, but still. And the process of waiting in line to get tickets was a nightmare (thank you, scalpers, the true fans really appreciated that). Needless to say, these two broke girls scraped it together and managed to get tickets through Vivid Seats. Our pockets could only afford the upper mezzanine. We lucked up and got great seats but honestly, The Kings Theater is so well designed (and gorgeous), there wasn’t a bad seat in the house.

I can gush forever about how fantastic the show was. It was the best show I have seen. It was a simple set, but the energy Taemin and his stunning dancers brought filled the stage and washed over all of us concertgoers. The charisma, the charm, and the setlist were just perfection. The only critique I have is for the merchandise. I just feel that if you have a superstar like Taemin and the exclusivity of him coming to the US, why was the merch so drab? Of course, I ended up opening my wallet to pay for 45$ T-shirts but did they have to be so plain? Not even his face on one? No artwork? Just the 5 tour dates? Sigh… It just felt rushed and I wish they were a little more special. All in all, it was splendid. The venue fit him as an artist perfectly and he gave his all on the stage. It was a beautiful display. He is beautiful. He just reminds me to continue to chase my dreams and to live passionately. If you are a Taemin fan drop some hearts! If you attended the show drop some love!
