There are so many talented players at the 1 spot currently, but these are my top 5 right now.
1. Luka Doncic

One of the best players in the league without question. Sharpshooter 77 is a stat sheet stuffer, notorious for triple-doubles—an obvious choice.
2. Stephen Curry
A very efficient veteran who is lethal from anywhere on the court. He attempts about 9 3-pointers a game, and his ability to create for his teammates makes him one of the best point guards of all time.
3. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

A talented, young guard who led his team to a championship last season. Shai is as smooth as they come and is capable of hitting clutch shots. He is averaging over 30 points and five assists this season, repeating the same phenomenal start he had last season. OKC is currently undefeated. Can they go the distance again? We will see..
4. Jalen Brunson

One of my favorite players in the league (yes, I am biased), Jalen is cool and calm under pressure, doing everything efficiently despite usually being the shortest guy on the court. He was the most clutch player last season for a reason: he wasn’t afraid to embrace the moments when the Knicks needed him the most. How can you not root for number 11? He is New York tough.
5. Tyrese Maxey
The most surprising start to this season has to be the 76ers. After a disastrous last season plagued by injuries and foolishness, no one expected the hot start to the 2025-26 season. Maxey deserves his flowers. Despite everything, he has remained consistent. Crafty and efficient, Maxey can do everything. He continues to put Philly on his back, and his effort, along with that of other players, has resulted in wins. Hopefully, with his leadership, the 76ers can pull it together this season.
